Add a SummaryFor fifteen-year-old Haven, life is changing too quickly. She's nearly six feet tall, her father is getting remarried, and her sister, the always perfect Ashley, is planning a wedding of her own. Haven wishes things could just go back to the way they were. Then an old boyfriend of Ashley's re-enters the picture, and through him, Haven sees the past for what it really was, and comes to grips with the future.

Add a CommentMiss Sarah Dessen, had no idea what she was starting. This book is great and you finaly see the truth about how hard and crazy a wedding can be. Trully...Truthful! :D
Slow start, but the characters are relatable.
I enjoyed this book, but after previously reading at least five of her other novels, I felt that there was something missing. Although the ending wasn't her common closing of girl gets guy, it was okay, though sometimes I like stories that I can predict. Overall, I'm glad I read it but it was not Sarah Dessen's best.
After reading a few of Sarah Dessen's books (and falling in love with them), I decided to pick this one up too. It is significantly shorter than all of her other books, and although it was not a bad book, it was not nearly as good as her others; I would have to say this one is my least favourite. It just lacked the 'cannot put it down' effect that I experienced with all of her other novels. If this is the only book by Sarah Dessen that you have read, I encourage you to read another one - any other one. I can guarantee that she will have you hooked.
Another great work of Sarah Dessen!
Finally finished it ... t wasn't as good as her other books... but it is ok, it is her first one :) .... I love Sarah Dessen.. in general ... I would recommend to look for any other of her books :)
"That Summer" is the first book that I have read by Sarah Dessen. I admired the character Haven because she was able to overcome her family problems by herself. For some reason every time she had a problem she always found Sunmer at some place. I liked the relationship that she had with him, and at the beginning I was kind of mad at Ashley because she broke up with him. However as I kept reading the story I realized why she decided to brake up with him. I highly recommend this book to teenagers that like family problems and also some love.
Good book, but DEFINITELY not one of Sarah Dessen's best books. If you didn't like this book, read some of Sarah's other books. I'm pretty sure you'll like at least one of her other books.
Short but still good. [:
it was a good book to read but it wasn't my favorite sarah dessen book
