Add a CommentThe rooster crowing at the beginning of each disc will hopefully wake the listener / reader to the health promoting wisdom of supporting local food production. The CD's are an entertaining and educational view of the food growing experience as narrated by the author and her family members. They admit they were not experts - just a family with a dream. They openly express enthusiasm, self doubts, recipes, and admirable persistence as they pursue their one year goal to produce almost everything their family would eat that year. What a wonderful example of self reliance plus the importance of community. This could be an amazing addition to a school health curriculum.
This is a fabulous book for anyone interested in healthy eating and food production.
