"Tantalize" is the first book that I have read so far by Cynthia Smith. It is basically a vampire story, but it has some love involve between Quincie and Austin. Quincie is the protagonist in the story. Her parents died when she was little and left a big restaurant for Quincie. She ended up staying with her uncle, However she was living a normal life until her chef died and she didn't know what was the reason. Will Quincie be able to survive with her boyfriend and will she also be able to ignore Henry (The new guy that showed up at the restaurant because he wanted to be a manager)?I recommend this story to everyone especially teenagers.

I don't know why people are commenting that the book wasn't well written and it was hard to get into. Personally, I liked it. I thought it was very unique and was hooked till the end. It wasn't exactly an amazing 5 star, but it deserves more than 2. Then again I might be a little biased because I read some of the third book, not realising it wasn't the first until almost halfway done. I liked the whole vampire restaurent idea, very different and if you think about it, that would be pretty cool to have. Going to get the second book now! :P

Hard to get into. I great story idea, but not written very well. Felt like I was reading a book, instead of being a part of the story or watching it happen.

I didn't think this book was well written. The story idea is good but I felt it was too choppy. I tried reading the second book "Blessed" but couldn't get into it either.

an okay book, it got alittle boring partway through, but pulled through ok. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Love this book, and I really wish the author would come out with a sequel or something.

The back: Quincie Morris has never felt more alone. Her hybrid-werewolf first love threatens to embark on a rite of passage that will seperate them forever. And just as she and her uncle are about to unveil Austin's red-hot vampire themes restaurant, a brutal murder leaves them scrambling for a new chef. Can Quincie transform the new hire, Henry Johnson, into a culinary Dark Lord before opening night? Will he be able to wow the crowd in fake fangs, a cheap cape, and red contact lenses? Or is there more to the fresh face than meets the eye? As human and preternatural forces clash, a deadly love triangle forms and the line between predator and prey begins to blur. Who's playing whom? And how long can Quincie play along before she loses everything?
