I really enjoyed this book, though others may not like the writing style. it was a quick read read it in 2 hours. It is best to have the whole series at the same time.

I was quite disappointed. I had heard a lot of good things about it and it sounded like a very interesting book, but I couldn't connect with the main character & I didn't like the writing style at all. Not bad, but not very good either.

First book in a trilogy about a teen that has the curse of experiencing others dreams. Great concept for a book. Very easy read, as the writing style is more like a script, with very little descriptions.

I really enjoyed this book. It is written in lyrical prose and has a unique take on paranormal. It is a very quick read. The pacing is excellent. The characters are relatable. The romance is well-done without being overblown. There are some great twists in it along the way. Although others found her writing style choppy, I thought she did a great job with the lyrical prose. The one downside is that I found it a bit hard to get into initially, but it got better as it went along, so I recommend sticking with it even if you don't love the opening pages.

Okay the story was really good but at the end of the series the ending sucks! It's as if you took a year to write a wonderful story and just decided to end it in a day! But even so I would still read it!

the beginning is slow but as you get further into the book it gets much better. the style of writing was really different which made it much better. Pretty good read: 3.5/5

I've been seeing this book, along with its sequels in the bookstores and libraries for many months. The story intrigued me so I decided to read Wake. The first thing I noticed about this book is that the writing is EXTREMELY different. I'm still struggling to find out if I like it or not. The idea is interesting but at the end of the book, I felt as if this should have been the first few chapters of a longer book. It was basically a set-up for the next book. Regardless, this book still kept me hooked, although the random sub-plots and the main character's static character development threw me off. An okay book, although if you want fast action, this is definitely not for you. If you want a somewhat promising start of a series, then read this book. It may or may not draw you in. ;) Later guys!

This is the type of book that i really got into. The characters were really dynamic and well shaped and the relationships really drew you in to the plot too. I found i could really connect with the characters although the cheerleader stuff was kinda stereotypical. But other than that I really liked it, it was amazingly realistic :)

Janie Hannagan has a gift -- or rather a curse -- for being sucked into other people's dreams whenever they're sleeping nearby. She is witness to funny things; strange things; typical, boring things; and, in one instance, something so disturbing she won't even drive on Waverly Road any more. With the help of resident hottie Cabel Strumheller, Janie must discover whose terrifying dream she beheld, and what is wrong with her that she was able to see it in the first place.

For seventeen-year-old Janie, getting sucked into other people's dreams is getting old. Especially the falling dreams, the naked-but-nobody-notices dreams, and the sex-crazed dreams. Janie's seen enough fantasy booty to last her a lifetime. She can't tell anybody about what she does -- they'd never believe her, or worse, they'd think she's a freak. So Janie lives on the fringe, cursed with an ability she doesn't want and can't control. Then she falls into a gruesome nightmare, one that chills her to the bone. For the first time, Janie is more than a witness to someone else's twisted psyche. She is a participant....

That was the Goth stage, where I decided I'd never get the girl of my dreams because of my scars. Not to mention the hairstyle. (pause) But then she slammed a door handle into my gut. And when a girl does that to a boy, it means she likes him.
