Add a CommentAn incredible SF trilogy in one volume! This is one of the series I'd recommend that people start with if they are new to Octavia Butler. This trilogy features aliens, healing and loss in a post-apocalyptic earth, natural genetic modification, and questions about what is unique about humans. A fantastic series, with unforgettable characters and ideas!
This is trilogy. The first book is 'Dawn' - Lilith – according to C.S. Lewis, wasn’t she Adam’s first, demon/djinn wife? Or, look at this Lilith as an Eve parallel. Djwhatsit is the snake, and there’s even a fruit, though I think it was a banana. This was a really a fast read - surreal. Adulthood Rites - as the protagonists become less human, a bit harder to identify. Imago - my least favorite of the three, but I still recommend you read it.
If you love SciFi, you will LOVE Octavia Butler. Her stories are so imaginative, thorough, and VERY well-written. This is a compilation of the three books in this series. If you decide to get them one at a time, start with "Dawn."
