At first, i seriously did not want to take this book out i thought 'Oh geez, this is gonna be such a cliched over sappy book, and it's like creepy popular like how twilight was.' Yup, i was reluctant to read this, very reluctant. And then i was like 'Ah what the hell, i'll try it...' And then i read this book in fours hours. One of the fastest times i've ever read a book, it was that good, i couldn't put it down, nor could i read fast enough. I liked how though the author was using a topic that is beginning to be rather overused, she was able to write it in a original creative way (even if there were moments of cliched-ness) I really liked the way she portrayed the fallen angels, though i think a few things could have been done to make them slightly better. I liked Patch... attractive dangerous bad boy whose totally in love with his girl? Is very awesomesauce, i like it. Well, can't wait to read the second book. This book is really good, and i would recomend it, however, IF YOU ARE UBER PICKY ABOUT THE LITTLEST MENTION OF A PASSIVE CLICHE OR MINOR BRUSHES WITH DEATH THAT ALWAYS GET AVOIDED IN NEARLY THE SAME WAY, you might get mad at this book, because i swear Nora almost dies, like what? 5 times? And a bunch of those times, smeome else got hurt instead, or died instead, and then the other times Patch saved her, however the way she saved herself in the end was creative and good. (I wont say how she did it though, trying not to give spoilers) Anywhoosals A VERY GOOD BOOK!

I REALLY wanted to love this book. My friend recommended it and I didn't think I would like it. Frankly, I was right. I just didn't understand why anyone could like Patch. He got better later but it was so unrealistic! The whole point of fantasy books (at least to me) is for something outrageous like faeries or magic, to seem like it could actually happen. That's what brings the appeal. I personally didn't like this book, but it did possess qualities that could make it enjoyable.

Wow, I have a lot to say about this book but I'll try to keep it short. First off everyone should be aware that this is a total Twilight rip-off. I have no idea how it got nominated for a YRCA, I'm actually surprised the author wasn't sued for blatant reproduction. Also don't get me wrong I'm not much of a Twilight fan either but at least there was some sense to the characters and plot. This was just plain ridiculous. I hated Nora. She sounded like she was twelve years old and she obviously needed some mental help! Who would make out with someone they thought was trying to kill them?!? As for the writing itself there was little value there. The plot was dragged out in the beginning, it was boring. Then it was all shoved into the last few chapters! Also the level of writing was dissapointing, I know people in my English class who could do better than this. My guess is that this would probably appeal to those pre-teens who just LOVED Twilight, but if you're looking for a real book, don't waste your time.

Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide wheather she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel. For she is right in the middle of an ancient battl;e between the immortal and those who have fallen --and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.

He waited a few counts before answering. His voice was low, emotions untraceable. "You know I'm hiding things." There was a question attached to it. I knew Patch lived a life of closed doors and harboured secrets. I wasn't presumptuous enough to think even half of them revolved around me. Patch lived a different life outside the one he shared with me. More than once I'd speculated what his other life might be like. I always got the feeling that the less I knew about it, the better.

Patch's eyes were black orbs. Taking in everything and giving away nothing. Not that I wanted to know more about Patch. Since I hadn't liked what I'd seen on the surface, I doubted I'd like what was lurking deep inside. Only this wasn't exactly true. I'd liked a lot of what I'd seen. Long, lean muscles down his arms, broad but relaxed shoulders, and a smile that was part playful, part seductive. I was in an uneasy alliance with myself, trying to ignore what had started to feel irresistible.
