This movie is interesting. Very detailed about how McDonald's was founded. I actually learned some stuff about it that I didn't even know. For one, Ray Kroc didn't start the company. It was the two brothers, but Kroc was so impressed by…

The Founder Critique By: Mason Shipton. The Founder was directed by John Lee Hancock. Before directing The Founder, Hancock directed The Rookie and The Blind Side, two sports drama films, and Saving Mr. Banks and The Alamo, two…

A well done film about the beginnings of McDonalds hamburgers. Krac was ruthless. He saw the future and capitalized upon it.

Interesting true story about how McDonalds came about.

We've seen many biopics over the years, but one that highlights the McDonald's shenanigans has been thrown away into the docudrama template. Thankfully, director John Lee Hancock does a great job of translating it to the cinematic medium.…

****Spoilers**** I don't know how much of this movie was truthful, but it didn't paint Ray Kroc in a very good light. When the movie begins, he's a struggling salesman, barely able to make ends meet while trying to sell equipment. But once…

What's so interesting about this movie is how it allows balance between Kroc's ambition and his deep character flaws. It's a movie about the rise of a real big business and yet you are allowed to be angry at how it got where it got and…

This biopic covers Ray Croc's rags to riches story, from humble beginnings as a mostly unsuccessful travelling salesman to founding the McDonalds Empire, and cutting out the McDonald brothers in the process. Rather than paint him as 100%…

LOVED IT! LOVED IT! AND LOVED IT ! It was a very, "INSPIRATIONAL", Fact-Based, and AMBITIOUS film. Enjoyed it immensely and may watch it again in the future; I think business people & enterpreneurs, will really enjoy it. It was…

An entrepreneurial perspective worth watching. Guess how much 1% of McDonald's annual royalties equated to, according the facts given at the time of this movie!

Michael Keaton does a great job. This is a movie about McDonalds that left me with mixed emotions.

I enjoyed this film very much and am recommending it to family and friends. Michael Keaton was great in the leading role! I actually do eat at MacDonalds once or twice a year!

The founder(s) had imperfect moral characters as portrayed but deserved accolades for their business acumen, ingenuity, persistence and ambition that revolutionized the fast food restaurants, for better or worse. The appending link to "The…

One of the best "based-on-fact" movies I have seen. It goes a long way to show that "nice guys (such as the McDonald brothers) finish last." Ray Krock was persistent. He was also totally ruthless. When he comes to see Dick McDonald in…

This was an interesting depiction of the evolution of Goliath fast food companies in North America. Not something that I would watch again or rave to friends about though.

If this is capitalism you can have it. I appreciated that this movie was made for it has enlightened me to this cut throat industry and the heartless people involved. I have not eaten there in years and I will tell all my family and…

Overall this film is more about the acting, which is very good. Keaton was great. The actors who played the McDonald's brothers were awesome. The story it hopes to expose seems secondary. Kroc was a jerk. The world would have been fine…

Somewhat silly depiction of the development of the 'speedy system' at one point, and seems a bit of a flat portrayal of the main characters and values (delicious and 'family') of McD's service to humanity, but otherwise a decent enough…

As mentioned by others, this movie reveals how much of a predator Ray Kroc really was. He virtually stole the name and store prototype from the McDonald brothers, then didn't honor a handshake agreement for royalties between them.

Excellent film. Love Michael Keaton. Ray Kroc is an absolute @+&hole. Successful businessman, but he is downright cold. Great movie from start to finish.

The message of this movie is that Ray Kroc was a jerk. A compelling, if poorly directed, film about how Kroc, an only moderately successful milkshake machine salesman, turned McDonald's into a global force. According to this, he did it by…

There are always two sides to every story, but my guess is that most viewers will land on the side of Mac and Dick McDonald in this heartrending tale of deceit and greed.
