Carrie Fisher proved an amusing and clever companion for several road trips I took with her three memoirs. This one is not particularly focused, but it hits the highlights of her life and opens up about her struggles with addiction and…

Very funny and extremely sad.

Carrie Fisher wrote an hilarious book, about not very funny chapters of her life. I enjoyed this memoir because it was very well written, and it was very humorous.

Can a bipolar addicted movie star write a very funny, if somewhat disorganized, book about her life. In this case, yes she did. Besides the humour and the OMG moments while reading her stories one of the messages about LaLa tinsel town is…

Hilarious and not what I was expecting at all. I had no idea....

I know that humour is subjective – and this book really tickled my funny bone. This is a short biography of Carrie Fisher, with small insights into her life. From her famous parents, dealing with the fame of her with Star Wars, her…

A very fast read, but more about Carry Fisher's life than bipolar. The details about what it's like to live with bipolar are absent, glossed over with the barest of mentions -- though I attribute this more to the affects of memory loss due…

Well written, sad, sensationalistic. Entertaining...maybe, edifying- definitely not. Another celebrity cashing in on her fame.

HILARIOUS! Lovely insights into Carrie Fisher's mind and life. Couldn't put the book down, and read it in about one day. Highly recommend for Star Wars geeks, and for those who are interested in her mother's (Debbie Reynolds) life as well.

Honest portrayal of Fisher's life that is both funny and sad. A quick read that is told in a sarcastic voice some would call witty.

I am not sure if Carrie wrote this book before she wrote & performed her stage performance, but I had seen the performance long before I read the book and they are the same. I am happy that Ms. Fisher was able to obtain a level of peace…

Carrie is truthful and adds great humor to her live. I loved this book, and couldn't put it down. I read it in one day.

Witty, poignant, and full of humor, Carries Fisher offers an inside look at some of the more intimate stories and experiences of her life, all framed with her own kind of sense of humor. I can safely say that after reading this book, I…

This book may not be for everyone; but Carrie Fisher is nothing less than her honest, raw self. Her life wasn't pretty; and she tells you about it. Her honesty about her issues, addiction, mental health and ugly aspects of her life is…

Wishful Drinking was pretty easy to read. It took me five days to read this book. Carrie Fisher will be forever known in the public eye as Princess Leia from Star Wars. But, this is a memoir and when a memoir is written, not everything…

For me, Carrie Fisher has always been a huge role model in my life and reading about how she struggled with mental illness and addiction really put into perspective that she was just as much human as I am. Carrie Fisher has an amazing…

A sense of humour can go a long way and Carrie Fisher has it in spades. She opens with a death, by her own admission to get the heavy stuff out of the way quickly, and that is handled with a wonderful helping of gallows humour and dry…

Leia is the least of her problems, and she covers them all! From Hollywood inbreeding to electroshock therapy, she has little reservation about what she covers and proves that she really does "think in her mouth". I have a new-found…

Read a bit and then called it quits. I was really disappointed. Too trashy for me.

This book originated as a one-woman show by Fisher, and it's probably more affecting as performance. Still, as written it's entertaining: gossipy, and a quick read.

"Best known for her role as Princess Leia in the original Star Wars movies, Carrie Fisher is also the daughter of glittering film stars Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher. But beneath the glamorous Hollywood surface, Fisher's life has been…

This was an easy reader that told some of Carrie Fishers story. I loked learning about her childhood as well as her getting to know her sense of humor.

Fisher is whip-smart and tremendously funny, but Wishful Drinking is rambling and disconnected, making it a less-than-absorbing read. Based on a stage show, it reads like one, and is probably far more successful in that format than in…

I read about three quarters of this book and had to call it quits. Way too sporadic! It also wasn't funny (I'm not a Star Wars fan so I probably shouldn't have read this book in the first place), I was expecting some laughs. I think a…

One of the most self-indulgent, poorly written books I've ever read!
