I enjoyed the book. I had read the "Book of Negros" first. This was a close second in terms of enjoyment.

What a great generational canadian novel! The audiobook is very well done and the narrator does a fabulous job of playing the different characters.

I enjoyed every word in this book and did not want it to end. Extremely well written, and the narration was superb. I will definately re-read.

Lawrence Hill is an amazing writer. The Black History of Southern Ontario is rarely explored in fiction let alone as a subject in Canadian History. With this novel Hill goes a long ways to show readers a little piece of history that as Canadians really should know.

Great book, well written.
it's nice to have Canadian author who writes about Canadian history. I don't usually read historical fiction, but I really enjoyed this book, and his other books as well.
