Painful memoir of author living with flawed larger-than-life parents, the messy divorce, new living environment & how a greedy high maintenance flim-flam con artist/stepfather aka Tammy's fifth husband controlled her mother, poisoned family dynamics even more & implied killing his meal ticket. Piece of work seemed to cast from casting central.
I slogged though book. Author didn't have lavish childhood & had a flawed adulthood.
Nice she gradually reconnected with her father.

To tell you the truth I didn't finish this book. I didn't give it a fair shake. Maybe one day I will get it again and try to read it from start to finish.
Good luck Georgette in your future life. Don't look back.

This is heartfelt and poignant memoir from the daughter of 2 of country music's royalty. I really felt her pain at the loss of her mother Tammy Wynette, and her challenged relationship with her father George Jones. She's definitely her parent's daughter with a generous loving spirit, intelligence and apparently talent. People tend to think of superstar's children as having pampered lives, not Georgette Jones, she's had to make it on her own.
