This is an excellent documentary to watch for anyone who loves show business. It goes all the way to showing how a legend like Joan Rivers thinks, behaves, and decides.

I highly recommend this movie for anyone interested in a career in drama, comedy, or performance arts.

Everyone in any theatre programs/ classes, in high school, college/university, or recreational, needs to watch this.

She was a work a holic. Too bad she died recently maybe from malpractice.. Did not care for some of her humor. Recently seen this on public T.V. so am cancelling my hold request.

The first major strike against this vile, narcissistic "piece of work" was clearly Joan Rivers' hideous, surgically-reconstructed, 75-year-old face. Boy, I'm tellin' ya - This real-life replica of a pure plastic-surgery horrorshow made my skin crawl, like you wouldn't believe._____ The second major strike against this "Phantom of the Opera" freakshow was Joan's whiny, arrogant attitude. After over 40 years in the entertainment business Rivers self-righteously believed that, even now, the world just wasn't paying enough attention to her as the self-proclaimed "Royal Highness of Comedy"._____ I mean, snippy, little Joan was so bloody convinced that she was "funny" personified that she actually had the gall to claim (more than once) that no one, absolutely no one, on this planet had the right to disagree with her on this all-important matter._____ While watching this sniveling, self-loving documentary I found Joan Rivers to be such a completely hollow shell-of-a-woman (who was so utterly consumed by her belief in her apparent "funniness") that she quickly became nothing but a pathetic, tiresome, old bore.

I didn't care for Joan before I watched this but I found her to be a candid, poignant and often funny lady.

Different and better than expected. Lots of funny bits, but a surprising number of touching parts as well.

Left me with more respect for Joan Rivers and an admiration for her as a business person.

Joan Rivers shared her life for a year and we are richer for knowing what she puts up with to keep in the show business world.

I'm glad she shared her play launch on the DVD and her side when she feels blue. She "gets" the business but one can see that staircases are hard for her. Yet she perseveres and manages to keep living life!

I saw this in theatres and I couldn't resist picking it up at the library for a second time. Joan Rivers is so funny and an absolute legend. This documentary is a facinating look at the cut throat business of Comedy and Joan's quest to stay busy and in demand. I highly recommend!

I knew a little about her stand-up before watching this. She's a lot funnier than a lot of young comics out there. Her selfish personality also makes her perfect for this kind of documentary.

With Joan Rivers you can't ever be offended by what you get. The point of her comedy *is* to be offensive and subversive. Don't mind Joan, just enjoy the messed up person on the screen.

I was absolutely shocked by her filthy language and filthy stories.
