Well-produced horror film that plays well off the fear of insects and genetic engineering gone awry. Scientists prove to be both part of the problem and part of the solution. Gory in parts; there are children stalked and killed.
The first time i tried to see this film was in the movie theater with a lover. I asked her if she wanted to see this movie after we saw the commercial. First, we went to a bodega and got as much junk food as we could carry. We both hid bags under our jackets and was ready to see a movie. As we approached the theater i could see it on the marquee. I went to the booth to go pay, and THEY WERE SOLD OUT!!! My lover was extremely pissed!!! She took her bags and threw them into the garbage can. To this very day i can't figure out why she acted that way and threw away ALL THAT JUNK FOOD!!!! I'm the one that paid for everything. We could have easily saved it and ate it at my home. The worst part of that evening was her not saying one word to me while we walked to my home. That was years ago before i had HOMETHEATER!!! I saw this movie and decided to buy it and add it to my collection. My very first time watching it was TWO THUMBS UP!!! I liked the story and sounds. I also like the way the creatures looked. The sounds of the creatures underground has excellent sound. Often making you feel you are there with them. I'm giving this "jog my memory film" 4 stars. A good story, good sound effects, cool looking insect-creatures, and a very good director. Popcorn, potato chips, cheese doodles, corn chips, pretzels, twisters, mary jane's, 5th ave candy bar, M&M peanuts, and pizza with ice tea.
