Johnny Worricker is a long-serving MI5 officer. His boss and best friend Benedict Baron dies suddenly, leaving behind him an inexplicable file, threatening the stability of the organization. Meanwhile, a seemingly chance encounter with Johnny's striking next-door neighbor and political activist Nancy Pierpan seems too good to be true. Johnny is forced to walk out of his job, and then out of his identity to find out the truth.

Bill Nighy puts in a great performance. I give Page Eight five stars.

British spy thriller in the Smiley's People mold. Bill Nighy has the stiffest upper lip you've ever seen in a spy. Intelligent and suspenseful

EXCELLENT British spy thriller with no explosions or car chases! Just damn smart people at their best. Superlative cast not surprisingly does an incredible acting job. Don't watch it if you want to talk your way through - you need to think and to concentrate. Adult film only - kids will be bored out of their skulls. Great way to begin a trilogy and I love Bill Nighy!

A thoughtful spy movie concerned with a game of "Which spy can I trust?" It's a bit dated, since U.S. black sites around the world are hardly news and it's hardly a surprise the the U.K. knew all about America’s top-secret torture prisons. Its excellent cast with Bill Nighy, Michael Gambon, Rachel Weisz, and others are a treat to watch. An intelligent, witty script by David Hare which may be too slow-moving for some, but is an antidote to the usual heatpackers and the obligatory explosions of the spy franchise. It's a stylish political movie which is a deliberate throwback to 1960s British espionage thrillers like "The Ipcress File", back when "honor" was not a just cynical epithet.

I loved Page Eight, actors were great, good spy story line, a "thinkers" film. Looking forward to Turks & Caicos.

Well written, fast paced and very intelligent political thriller ( in the British mold ). Worth watching if you value those qualities in films.

Bill Nighy is excellent, but that's not news. This film is not an action thriller so much as a "who can an old spy trust?" sly Brit bureaucracy skit. Good enough for a Nighy fan to enjoy.

well made and thought out but dont expect a 5 star movie. Its quite slow. Nighy is as brilliant as ever and that makes this rise above many others.

Excellent. Wish for books like this well-written, well-acted film.

Well done political intrigue. There are two more parts to this story. I have seen them all.
