This is a spectacular adventure of one loggerhead turtle's journey from a young hatchling emerging from her nest in the sand, to a 25 year old adult returning to the same beach to hatch her own young. It's a remarkable story about the harrowing trek around the globe of this threatened species and an amazing odyssey you won't want to miss.

I saw this when the library first obtained it and am watching it again. The journey follows the long arduous life of a female turtle and the obstacles she faces. From the moment she hatches it's a race down the beach to the shoreline dodging crabs that kill and eat baby turtles. Everyone I tell her story to feels inspired and learns something. We all know about the plastic and other ocean pollution issues but few know about the life of a sea turtle. If you think your life is difficult or pointless... Watch her defy the odds and fight the currents to stay on course. It is nothing short of a miracle.

good documentary, but has a lot of sadness to it. I would recommend watching his with any child/ children under the age of 12, because of all the death.

This was a great movie for my class. It is quite long so I showed it in two sittings. Great for the story of the turtle and its many obstacles, but was also good for discussion on other ocean animals, pollution and animal stewardship. Very well done!

An amazing documentary on the lives of these turtles. Tugs at the heartstrings. I loved it!

This is a slow but beautifully filmed documentary (but after all, turtles are known to be somewhat slow creatures, which are to be treasured). I wonder if there was a type of photoshop done to create such bright blue seas. I've never seen the Atlantic looking so Carribean-like. Some sections made me angry, including the dangerous plastics that are in the sea and sea oil that will remain for thousands of years. There are a few delightful glimpses of seahorses and other sea creatures. I would have like more information about the life of the male turtles; is it exactly the same except for egg-laying?

Really great video-doc which does a lovely job of piecing together sequences to make a cohesive story. There are a lot of nail biting moments and seeing how one shipping boat's impact on a wee little island of seaweed was very sad and enlightening. The kids got a bit confused closer to the end when they accelerated the age of the turtle, thus skipping a whole portion of its life. We kept a measuring tape on hand to visually show the kids how long the turtle was at various points throughout the movie. A big round of applause to the team who filmed in some pretty hairy conditions to get the shots needed to make this story. The storm along the coast of Canada was another nail-biter.

Excellent documentary. Very educational. Great story too.

Lots of moments when you wonder "how the heck did they manage to film THAT???"

It shows animals 100% of the time, no ugly human mugs.

The only thing they messed up is the lack of closed captioning. Apart from that, this documentary is just as good IMO as BBC's Natural History shows. A very pleasant surprise.

LOL, the narrator played the insane queen in Blackadder.

Other: There is nothing frightening or intense about the film. No vulgarity, violence, sexual content. It's no different than the Discovery Channel.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: That is one lucky turtle, but you are never quite sure if she is going to survive.
