It isn't what it may appear to be, or, don't judge a film by its cover. A group of religious fanatics put this on DVD for those with limited capacity. I suppose it could be looked at as a comedy of errors.

(I wonder how many minutes of this movie the patron above watched, for his comment betrays his ignorance of the subject. But, well, it has been said, one fears what one doesn't understand...) What an incredible adaptation of the book “Nosso Lar”! I never thought they’d be able to turn André Luis’ book into a movie, but they did it, and very successfully. There were a few embellishments, but they kept very much to the original story. A must see for anyone who believes in reincarnation (*) or the ones with an open mind. After you watch the movie, read the book (I believe you can buy it at Amazon.com). CLEVNET has a few books by Francisco Cândido Xavier [Chico Xavier]; they also have “Experimental Spiritism” (“O Livro dos Médiums”) by Allan Kardek (Hippolyte Léon Denizard Rivail). (*) This does not have much to do with the Indian idea of reincarnation, but Allan Kardek’s “Spiritism.”
