I did not watch this very long before I became bored. Yes, her husband was an insufferable jerk, but actions have consequences.

I really enjoyed this film. The beginning does drag a little, and they could have shortened it, but the 2nd half more than makes up for it - my advice is keep watching, it gets much better!!

story of young woman who falls in love with a married man and how it devestates her life...also how it effects her in her old age

Not much real passion, and a lot of silliness. A number of the characters are written very inconsistently. But about the only one that you can really feel for is the husband, particularly as played by Alun Armstrong.
