A funny and stylish picture book based loosely on the relationship between the literary figure Virginia Woolf and her sister, the painter Vannessa Ball. Vanessa's sister, Virginia, is in a wolfish mood - growling, howling and acting very strange. It's a funk so fierce, the whole household feels topsy-turvy. Vanessa tries everything she can think of to cheer her up, but nothing seems to work. Then Virginia tells Vanessa about an imaginary, perfect place called Bloomsberry. Armed with an idea, Vanessa begins to paint Bloomsberry on the bedroom walls...

What a great story! And yes, it is a play on Virginia Woolf, and Vanessa Bell, and Bloomsbury (Bloomsberry), but a child won't need to know that to love this story. What happens when one family member gets the doldrums and turns the whole house upside down? Art, and a sister, save the day, of course. Gorgeous illustrations.

Kyo Maclear and Isabelle Arsenault pair up for a truly enchanting picture book. Arsenault's use of pen, ink, pastel and hand lettering is all manner of divine.

An interesting book about depression? Wonderful illustrations that my preschool son enjoyed.

It is not more of an adult book. As everyone including children can have off days where they are not always happy. Children can be in rotten grumpy moods just as much as adults can. My 5 year old daughter loved this book, and what it was that made the girl look like a wolf - she thought that part was very funny.

This is such a clever take on a famous author - also very appropriate for a royal prince.

When someone is down they can be an outright wolf to everyone around them. it can take great effort to cheer them up, but this girl shows just how worthy it is to try.

Amazing illustrations and great writing too! This might just be the best picture book of the year so far!
