In all honesty this author has disappointed me in the past, but this book definitely redeems her skill. Well done Miss Paratore.

I loved this story. It's full of hope and in a way, warmth. It teaches us that we are never alone, that we can seek help when we need it, and maybe, just maybe, our dreams will come true.

I loved this book. It teaches people to believe in their dreams. Aislinn is a really creative and funny character. :)

The summer is just starting and Aislinn is looking forward to it, though she must mind her four younger siblings every day while her parents work. However, in September she will be going into Grade 8 and this excites her. Her father is very strict and will not allow her any freedom. Aislinn has three important dreams or wishes and the most important is that her father will stop drinking. As the summer goes on, the drinking problem becomes worse and her father grows mean and violent. Aislinn discovers a way that might make dreams come true and in many cases it works. Like Aislinn, we should all chase our dreams and never give up. Reviewed by BPL volunteer EE.
