One thing, this true story occurring near the end of WWII, demonstrates why military transports shouldn't be used for spur-of-the-moment sightseeing trips. The audio narrator does a good job all the way through the 7 CD set, but the story -- well, it might have been gripping for newspaper readers at the time who apparently followed it as a daily soap opera; but now, not so much. One big plus -- unlike "Unforgiven", the depressingly unpleasant WWII story well known to current-day culture -- this one has a decidedly optimistic message. Overall, while a little slow going, still modestly interesting.
