A captivating tale of people at the margins of society who open their hearts to a stranger. In a run-down park on the outskirts of Rome, a two-year-old girl is discovered and taken in by a family of hard-luck circus performers. A note from a desperate mother reveals little about who she is or why she was left. As the bond grows between the girl and her surrogate family, this naturalistic drama becomes a revealing and soulful portrait of courage and discrimination, and of loss and togetherness.

Subtitles are a bit small, white with no background.
Not your typical film or topic. The scene with the dog who finally returns upset me as it looked very real. Disappointed by the ending however the rest was very well done, with lots of very well portrayed emotions. Although I dont agree with how the family dealt with the situation I thought it was a very interesting topic & way of justifying her reason for not going to the police. Unique would be the one word I would use to describe this movie.

A sometimes tender and touching and other times tedious story.

A tender and touching Italian movie about two circus performers (played wonderfully by two real circus performers) who take in an abandoned 2-year-old girl and bestow her with complete love until her mother is supposed to claim her. The film is made in documentary style, with a lot of improvised dialogue, which makes it especially real and poignant.

If I am making a film, I would like to study and check scene-by-scene how this is done specially if I am drafting the script...the story is simple and so is the sequence of events. What a beautiful way to end a story like this!
