Two recently paired up homicide detectives went about solving a murder case with different focus and direction based on their own personal experiences. There were many major characters besides the principals played by Chastain, Moretz, Morgan and Worthinton: good cops, bad cops, happy couple, divorced couple, psychotic killers, serial killers and one really dysfunctional family. Knock off a star for requiring too much energy to follow the story. Overall an above average police crime drama.

Subtitles are a good size, white with no background.

Enjoyed this very much, but love my crime dramas. Though I think the only "true" part is that there are a lot of dead women found in a field in Texas.

What a piece of disapointment this movie was. Please get me back the 1.5 hours I've wasted of this "film".

Based on true events Texas Killing Fields was a disappointment. The movie has a great cast but the storyline and character development was not well done. The motives and methods of the killers were basically ignored and there were various other characters and suspects in the movie that only confused matters.

Not entertaining.

Unusually developed and not plotted like a regular crime thriller. (Perhaps because it is based on real events.) I'm not into 'artsy' , ..but I found that this film rewarded my effort at close immersion into following its evolutions. (..and the Commentary was worth it also.)

not usually a fan of crime dramas due to their graphic nature, but this one mostly manages to avoid that, so with no need to cringe and a decent, well paced story line, not bad.

Great cast. Lame movie. Nothing about this movie grabbed me or stood out to me. I just kept expecting for something better to happen. Nothing ever did. There was a fair bit of good acting, but for no real reason. Many plot strands, or reasons to delve deeper into particular characters, came up and then were completely ignored. Felt like a series of unfinished and at times unconnected scenes.

Brian: Can't you just go home and watch TV like other kids? Can you do that?
Ann: Yeah.
Brian: Then get out of here. Go do it.
Ann: Look, what did I do? Huh? What did I do?
Brian: You know you're never alone? There's always someone looking out for you.
Ann: Now, who's that, hmm? God? Now, you see, God's too busy for me. I figured it out. Everybody's always, you know, busting his balls all the time- you know, "Give me this. I want that." He ain't got time for little people. Not me.

Mike to Brian: What were you thinking? Huh? Were you thinking, "I'm a big New York gorilla"? Thinking, "I'm a big tough guy..."
Pam: Go away, Mike. "...Getting all tough on those small-town fish"?
Mike to Pam: Was I talking to you? Go on.
Mike to Brian: You don't know how close to the edge you are. You belong with Levon and Rule in Texas City with me. You don't know where you are right here. This place- this place is nothing but chaos. Your God don't even come here. You don't know where you are right here.
Brian: I know exactly where I am.
