A siren must choose between the curse that defines her and a chance at love

Lexi is cursed. Following in the footsteps of every woman on her mother's side of the family, she's a siren whose song lures unsuspecting victims to their watery deaths. Each day she goes to school like a normal teenager, and each night she must swim to stay alive. Lexi wants desperately to be a normal girl, but she cuts herself off, becoming an ice queen to keep from hurting the people she cares about. Then she finds herself caught between a new boy at school who may have the power to melt her icy exterior and a handsome water spirit who says he can break Lexi's curse if she gives up everything else. Lexi is faced with the hardest decision of her life. Will she learn that love finds a way to overcome even the strongest of curses?

Ripple is a sea-ravaged tale of melancholy beauty, and the choices one girl makes between land and waves, love and freedom, her future--and her heart.

Lexi, a siren, is cursed to lure men into the water to drown them. Basically, a the normal role a siren would play. Not a curse just normal. Although Ripple has the over used love triangle trope. Back and fourth between two guys, one she clearly wants to be with and the other, he only knows about her curse there is nothing significant about him. The exciting beginning only last a few pages from then on roles down hill at an alarming fast pace. Lexi’s love triangle takes over the whole book. Will she choose boy A or B? Oh, wasn’t Ripple about a siren not a teenage love fest? This novel is for anyone who can stomach 260 pages of that love fest. Good luck. - @LittleMissRedHead of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

I can't say I'm completely enchanted by this book, but it was enjoyable overall. I like the concept, for I have not read many siren books, and the plot was nice. Good, but not a favorite.

It's a good book and I enjoyed reading it, but it's quite predictable in some places. It's one of those books that has a good plot and stuff, but doesn't make you fall in love with the characters.

This book is a modern mermaid story. The main character is likable, and there were some really good twists and turns in the story that I didn't expect at all. I would recommend this if you are looking for a mermaid story.
