Just in time for Halloween, The Shadows that Rush Past introduces young readers to some of the creepiest, scariest stories from Inuit mythology. These tales, told by critically acclaimed writer Rachel Qitsualik, bring to life four creatures from Inuit mythology: the amautalik, akhla, nanurluk, and mahaha.

These tales are filled with child-stealing ogresses; monsters that are half-man, half-grizzly bear; ice-covered polar bears ten times the size of normal bears; and a smiling creature that surprises unsuspecting campers and tickles them to death!

Written in a playful, conversational, sometimes funny style, The Shadows that Rush Past will keep young readers anxious for the thrilling frights that might lurk on the next page.

Sadows that rush past is really freaky. Would you rather have a man eating beast in your village or a weird man come into your house and tickle you to death. I personally would rather not have any of those things! Anyways I think that you should read this book because it will teach you about scary tales in fun ways!

Cool Author Fact: RACHEL A. QITSUALIK's favourite things include hawks, dogs, and vanilla ice-cream (not necessarily in that order).

Would you want to have a child stealing old lady or a laughing, evil zombie that tickles you to death outside your window brought to life by Inuit imaginations? This book brings creepy but interesting stories to life for people who can imagine as far as the Inuit. The monsters are very interesting, unique, weird, and creepy. My favorite has got to be the Mahaha. This monster the scariest of the 4 in this short, but enjoyable book
