I got past the jacket "HOLLYWOOD CELEBRITIES ARE DOING IT. CORPORATE MOGULS ARE DOING IT. BUT WHAT ABOUT HOSE OF US LIVING IN THE REAL WORLD - AND ON A REAL BUDGET?"

But couldn't get past the second paragraph of the Introduction: "Unfortunately, most people don't have movie stars on speed dial to consult when they're contemplating a vegan lifestyle...."

Great book with tantalizing recipes and palatable anecdotes of a journey.

This would be helpful for someone just transitioning to veganism, including what to do if your doctor disagrees (most will be impressed, these days), dating, some good recipes such as mashed potatoes (no photos, not a single one), and advice about what foods contain animal ingredients. However, she promotes kosher marshmallows, which locally are made with fish gelatin, so do your own fact checking. It has got everything vegan for dummies would have, just in a less tacky format.
