In today's fast-paced society, TV dinners and fast food can easily take the place of good home cooking. But with the help of one of the most underused appliances in most people's kitchen -- the freezer -- anyone can make and preserve about two weeks' worth of delicious home-cooked meals in a matter of hours. Jessica Fisher' s Not Your Mother provides the key to doing so. Fisher outlines 200 recipes for delectable breakfasts, lunches, and dinners through the method of batch cooking that saves both time and money. This cookbook puts a modern spin on the age-old idea of freezing meals for later, and appeals to today's diverse tastes, providing recipes for not only chicken, beef, and pork, but also fish, shellfish, and vegetarian main courses. Fisher also details how to go about using the freezer to its full potential, giving information on the best freezer bags and, most importantly, how to thaw food safely after it has been frozen.

This is one of my favorite cookbooks. Everything I tried from this book came out excellent. Jessica Fisher has THE BEST lasagna I've eaten in years--and I am extremely picky when it comes to lasagna. Highly recommend it.

Best book on making ahead and freezing I've read. It helps you to organize yourself in order to save time and it gives you a good idea of how to customize the process to include your own favorite recipes.

Great hints for freezer cooking. Recipes were not that interesting. Only a couple of good ones for our family.

One of the best cookbooks I own and I have LOTS of them. I use this book most every week and it is my favorite. I also follow Jessica's blogs and she has lot of great ideas and new cookbooks frequently. She just had a juicing book come out and two more cookbooks on the way.

I thought I would like this book, I am the casserole queen. But a flip through this book and a look at the recipes and the ingredients, I didn't even sign it out of the library. Too many odd ingredients that I would have to specially buy for these recipes. Casserole are supposed to be easy and made with things you have on hand. Not special items that are just going to end up looking like a sloppy mess. I took a pass on this book.
