This is definitely not my type of movie and I'll be honest here; I only watched this because I saw that David Hyde Pierce is in it. He did an awesome job and it was fun seeing him in a completely different role that has a little bit of Niles Crane in it. I usually cannot stand Jeanine Garafallo, but she and David made a very nice pair and there were a few cute moments between them. I won't lie when I say that this movie is definitely not without it's raunchy language and so forth, but I was very happy to see that there was no nudity or sexual situations that I expected. I love that this movie was made in 2001 but looks like it could have been made in the 80's. It had some hilarious moments and it's one of those movies that I wouldn't mind seeing again.

Cheesy summer camp films get thoroughly pastiched in this cult classic. The humor is ridiculous, fourth-wall-breaking, and sometimes just strange & inexplicable-- think Airplane! or Blazing Saddles. An absolutely stacked ensemble cast make every scene funny in its own way. For more talking soup cans and throwback raunchiness, check out the Netflix-produced prequel and sequel series.

Really sucks bad who makes this kind of crap!

I suspect people either think this spoof of '80s movies and summer camp is hilarious or they don't understand its appeal at all. The comedy and plot are completely ridiculous. I recommend it for those with an offbeat and/or very broad sense of humor. I like the movie a lot, but the related Netflix series, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, did not hold my interest. For me, 97 minutes is about the perfect length for this type of comedy; the 8 half-hour Netflix episodes felt too long and dragged out. The movie is rated R for strong sexual content, language and a drug sequence.

Surprisingly I didn't like this movie when I tried watching it a year ago, but this time I caught on to the setting of the movie and the humour is just beautiful for someone like me who enjoys silly, absurd humour and poking fun at what more conventional movies do. For those who liked WHAS try "They Came Together" for more of the same but even better in my opinion, with much of the same cast in the movie

Yet another one of those movies where I can put up with 20 minutes hoping it gets better and then it never does, so I turn it off. I was referred to this movie after watching "They Came Together" with Rudd and Poehler expecting more of the same hilarity, but what I got was a boring movie with 1 or 2 laughs and it was just bad.

While I find this movie a bit more gross than funny, I do love a good camp-romp flick and the cast alone (launching many careers like Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, and much more) is impressive. I enjoyed the recent Netflix revival series much more than I did the movie.
