New faces and old resentments make for a potentially volatile blend, especially now that Litchfield is a for-profit business. This season delves into the racial and economic tensions that run rampant in the halls of Litchfield. Overrun with new inmates and overseen by inexperienced guards, the prison undergoes an unprecedented culture war.

In all honesty, as seasons of Orange is the New Black continue to go on, the more sloppy the writing seems to get as well as the storyline. My favourite season of all the seasons of this show was season one, since it seemed to focus more on what living in a women's prison is really like instead of just petty TV drama. I will say, however, this season Piper really does begin to transform as a character and things in the show seem to enter a more political story as we learn more about how characters got to where they are now. As always, the show is full of drama and plot twists as well as funny moments. I would rate this season 3.5/5 stars.

A very engaging and fascinating show created by Gingi (sp?) Cohen, based on a book of the same name by Piper Kerman. I found the book to be nowhere as interesting as the show by netflix— not even close!
