I thought this movie was something a little different than the norm. I found it to be interesting and entertaining. It was relatively clean, which is seldom seen today. Will I watch it again? You betcha!
really really good! but have tissues cause you will cry
After reading some of the bad comments we questioned weather or not to check this movie out. Lucky for us we paid more attention to the good comments because we really enjoyed. A warning have some Kleenex ready some emotional scenes.
Bold. Sad. Thought provoking. Good ending.
Oddly, strange, sad movie. Perfect movie for the preteen audience.
This movie...was not good. Naomi Watts was so unbelievably annoying. I don't know what it was but every time she was on screen (and it was a lot) I wanted to fast forward it. The story had a disappointing climax...it did all of this building up to this one moment and then...nothing happened. The story was definitely emotional and the child actors were amazing, ten times better than the adults. The only other positive about this movie were the few scenes in which Lee Pace was in.
Usually in a movie, I'm looking for feel-good entertainment, a decent story, and good acting. Like that old meat Loaf song, Two out of Three Ain't Bad, this movie has two which accounts for the fact that audiences generally liked it and critics hated it. As noted in some of the other comments, Naomi Watts is terrific and the remainder of the supporting cast is good, especially the kid who plays Henry. The story was written by Greg Hurwitz who writes a pretty decent thriller so you would expect a good story. Picture Jackie Chan in hand to hand combat on a 10 story building, jumping off and landing far below in a garbage truck that has just made its previous stop at a marsh-mellow factory and you get the chances of this plot reaching any part of your rational mind. They could have done a lot better.
Watch this movie! It's got everything.... touching, drama, comedy, ridiculousness. The negative comments below are from people who just didn't get it. Naomi Watts is terrific.
Tear jerker. Good story. Well acted.
