"Griffith, Duke of Riverton, likes order, logic, and control, and he naturally applies this rational approach to his search for a bride. He's certain Miss Frederica St. Claire is the perfect wife for him, but while Frederica is strangely elusive, he can't seem to stop running into her stunningly beautiful cousin, Miss Isabella Breckenridge"--Amazon.com.

Loved this book. The story is well written and not forced as many other romantic stories. So beautiful. So fresh. I'm hooked in this series.

What made this a 3 1/2 stars vs. a 5 stars was, in all of the other Hawthorne books, Griffith appears to be confident, independent and somewhat stiff. In this book, he seemed very desperate! He seemed so desperate to find a wife, and once he set his sights on the right person, he came across as willing to do anything to win her affection. Isabella, on the other hand, was too repressed. I don’t know how they became a match, and who knows how their marriage would go on, if this was to be believed. Yet.......it did keep me reading, so 3 1/2 stars it is!
