Cathy a young 18 year old girl is a talented artist growing up in the tiny fictional town of Mariners Cove. Cathy becomes has a success and acceptance await her at NSCAD University in Halifax. On the other side a boy, Hutch Parsons is everything Cathy is not energetic, popular, and smart. He can't wait to launch his fishing career. But one evening Hutch's life comes falling down around him. Once that happens, they cross paths and history is made. Absolutely saddening book, I truly loved this book. every page of this novel made me cry. I loved the way this book was in Cathy's eyes. She made it easy to understand with her descriptions of nature in Mariner's Cove. Anybody who loves romances, this one's the one. 5/5. @momo of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

Catching the light is a story of two people; it has two different story lines in itself. A story about having no confidence from building confidence. Cathy, a young girl that grows up in a small Newfoundland town who is an only child she’s quiet and well reserved but has difficulties in school she struggles to read and get good grades. But however, she has a great passion for art and is amazing in it. Where on the other hand we have Hutch a complete opposite of Cathy he loves socializing and has lots of friends and he is very smart with a bright future ahead, but destiny has something else planned for these two. Cathy soon dreams about joining art school as her confidence starts to build up with her art skills she gains more courage with the passing time but on the other hand Hutch gets involved in an accident and things change for him he is no longer the same socializing person he was he struggles to build up his confidence again. In my opinion this book was really amazing I loved there were two point of views of the characters and how they were both the opposites. This book deserves a 5/5 for its rating and I would definitely recommend it to other readers. @Bookalicious of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
