Frank likes peace and quiet. He likes his tent, his pencil, and writing in his secret notebook. Bean likes noise. He likes his bus, his trumpet -- toot, toot! -- and making music. Loud music. But Bean is missing something: he does not have words. What will happen if Frank shares his words with Bean? With a laugh-out-loud narrative by Jamie Michalak, author of the Joe and Sparky series, and Bob Kolar's bright, graphic, comical illustrations, this fresh and funny story will go down easy for beginning readers and young listeners alike.

I am so disappointed that I cannot place this book on hold for my granddaughter during the pandemic closure. It has been incorrectly categorized as an easy reader and therefore not available for hold. It is a picture book for 5-8 yr olds. Please fix this.

Hey! Friends don’t have to have the same interests, just look at quiet Frank and noisy Bean. In this early reading book, four chapters show how Frank and Bean come to appreciate each other. The digital art and the large bold face onomatopoeia words enhance the fun of reading about these two zany, wacky friends. (Library Thing review copy)
