One of the comedy duo is a murderer- is it Collins or Morris?
Or...someone completely different?

I believe Atom Egoyan is at his best when he does small, independent films. But when he gets into the domain of Hollywood type films he often misfires. 'Where The Truth...' is one such film. It has a good cast, a pretty good story line, and various scenes of eroticism. However, the sum is not as good as the parts. It is still a watchable film, but you will come out thinking it could have been made so much better.

I .am. interested in well-made thrillers, and this could have been one. My summation is that Egoyan just doesn't have the right kind of dramatic sense or pizzazz for this kind of story. It's a good plot, a promising cast, there are no budget restrictions to be found, etc., For all that, the sense of pace and of highs and lows, of what to underscore and what not to, are all simply absent, where they shouldn't be.

I am not interested in thrillers and watched this movie because of Colin Firth.
I'd say the main message of the film is that it is hard if not impossible to know what really happened, be it a crime, your family history, or people you meet.
We are fed (I almost said "fed up") by press and this movie is a good reminder not to hurry to blame, and to believe in good in people.
Both Kevin Bacon and Colin Firth are great.
Beware of explicit sexual/erotic scenes.
