James Stewart is one of the most honored and popular stars in film history. Behind actors, Humphrey Bogart and Cary Grant - Stewart is considered to be the 3rd greatest male screen-legend of Hollywood's "Golden Age".

Born (1908) in Indiana, Pennsylvania - Stewart's acting career spanned for 55 years (1935-1990). In that period of time he appeared in a total of 92 feature films, television programs, and shorts.

Stewart had a very likable and down-to-earth screen persona and he easily adapted himself to many film genres, such as - Comedies, Thrillers, and Westerns.

This well-researched biography by Marc Eliot also includes a 16-page photo gallery.

*Note* - In 1997 - James Stewart (89 at the time) died due to artery blockage in his lungs.

The "everyman" actor of his generation. Jimmy Stewart was the one to watch in every scene and Marc Eliot has captured him well.
Good read
