Tells of the Elder Days, of the First Age of Tolkien's World, when Morgoth, the first Dark Lord, dwelt in Middle Earth, and the High Elves made war upon them for the recovery of the Silmarils, the jewels containing the pure light of Valinor. It is to this ancient drama that the characters in "The Lord of the rings" so often look back.

This a great book. No one should miss it nor be fooled by the Lord of the Rings because Tolkein only edited down to that watered down text for his publisher's saleability schemes.

This is him at the iron forge billows of his word-smitthy, uncut on and in preparation for Metal Blade and Megaforce Records, before he went Hollywood.

A Beastlord Slavedragon, he hath spake a small wording upon the matter.

A must read for any true Tolkien fan. This book really is a history of the fantastical world of Tolkien's imagination
