I really enjoyed these series- look forward to the next (4)-is it still being televised? Is Jemma Redgrave the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave. What a terrific actress!

My daughter and I loved this show. For a particular 16 year old to like it, it must be good. It was excellent. Highly recommend it. Kind of disappointed, however, how they ended up portraying her second in command doctor, the Scottish doctor. Thought it was too easy of a way out of writing him off. Could look at two ways, though, but, since I don't want to write any spoiler alerts, won't say much. Just that I liked the character, and how he was written in the last season, well, just didn't sit well with me. Was really happy in the end that Eleanor finally got the happiness that was due her.

It is a good show, with wonderful period feel and setting. It tries to be historically accurate in many respects. There is romance and melodrama, ups and downs of life.

One of the best shows out there. Excellent period details, authentic feel to the sets and situations. Very intersting characters, even the minor ones. For those interested in women's rights, in the Victorian era, in the beginnings of modern medicine, in father-daughter relationships, this one is a must.
