From citizen to protester to terrorist, and back to citizen. Kunzru maps Chris Carver's evolution and eventual unraveling at the hands of a past acquaintance.

Have you ever wondered what drives a radical revolutionary? The narrator in My Revolutions, is an eloquent revolutionary who describes his life as he goes from disenchanted youth to criminal arsonist. His journey continues until he realizes that his anger and ideology is being used to manipulate him. Then the government uses knowledge of his past to further manipulate him. The writing is beautiful, the story is gripping and like the 2004 documentary The Weather Underground, it provides a lot of insight into how people become extremists.

A picture of the 60s and 70s UK. A revolutionary goes underground and is discovered years later to be co-opted by informer. Atmosphere seemed authentic.
