“Look on the bright side," said Simon, "If they need a human sacrifice, you can always offer me. I'm not sure the rest of you qualify anyway.”
Inqustior: "Where did you get that?"
Jace: "The shirt? Macy's. Winter sale."
Clary: "I'm going to the City of Bones with you guys. Neither of you have ever been there, and I have."
Alec: "Last time we faced a demon, she just cowered and screamed."
(Clary glares at him.)
Alec: "It's true.
“Well, I’m not kissing the mundane," said Jace. "I’d rather stay down here and rot."
"Forever?" said Simon. "Forever’s an awfully long time."
Jace raised his eyebrows. "I knew it," he said. "You want to kiss me, don’t you?”
"It's a fabulous idea." Jace dropped the paper back onto the table, and began to slide off his jacket. "I've got a stele we can use. Who wants to do me?" "A regrettable choice of words," muttered Magnus. (page 283)
"What do you want me to tell you? The truth? The truth is that I love Simon like I should love you, and I wish he was my brother and you weren't, but I can't do anything about it and neither can you!"
"Enormous?" said Jace. "Did you just call my fat?" "It was an analogy." "I am not fat." - Jace and the Inquisitor"

SummaryAdd a Summary
Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.
Another installment of Clary and Jace and their struggle to defeat the demons of the underground
a girl whose got major issues with supernatural creatures and the worlds worst father attempts to keep him from destroying earth with the help of her friends and brother whom shes in love with...yep MAJOR issues there...
I couldn't put this book down. It's a great sequel to City Of Bones, you could even say it's better. It has its problems, but those are things you can get pass because the story just absorbs you completely. There was a lot of action and suspense with this one, but it was equally amazing. I can't wait to read City Of Glass!
