Dance party USA: A coming-of-age story about apathetic teens Jessica (Anna Kavan) and Gus (Cole Pennsinger) who share a fleeting moment at a Fourth of July party in Portland. Their relationship grows closer and more complex after Gus confronts her with a troubling secret.
Quiet city: In this film we meet 20 something Jamie as she arrives in New York to visit a friend who never shows. On an empty subway platform, she crosses paths with a kindly stranger and an unlikely connection is formed over the next 24 hrs. The film features director Katz's fellow filmmaker Joe Swanberg in a supporting role, and the two were subsequently cited as two of the founding fathers of a new independent film movement called "mumblecore."
