Kitschy and dated and politically incorrect, Robinson Crusoe on Mars (1964) delivers up far more laughs than could possibly have been intended. This is one of those movies that's so bad, it's good.

great movie it is classic Hollywood. I saw this and remember it was not a huge movie but it sure was amazing. I think the same guy that did War of the Worlds did this too. You can see it in the alien ships are the same ships. Great movie.

I loved this movie as a child, and I still think it is the best science fiction movie ever made--until Star Wars. It is just as much fun to watch today as it was then. There are a few things that are funny because technology has change beyond what even Hollywood could imagine. This adventure movie still compares favorably to 2015's _The Martian_, and is a great family movie to talk about how rapidly our technology has changed, and how rapidly our knowledge of other planets has expanded. The plot and the characters are not overwhelmed with technological doodads, space monsters, or CGI.

While it may seem like a forgettable sci-fi b-picture, "Robinson Crusoe on Mars" is a cool looking, clever, and smart genre film, directed by Byron Haskin, who did the 50s version of "War of the Worlds." The title sums up the premise, which is very similar to the recent best-seller "The Martian." A U.S. astronaut crash lands on Mars and must survive with only his wits and his monkey. For fans of pre-digital effects, this is a treat. The Martian space crafts are very similar to the ones from "War of the Worlds." Look for Adam "Batman" West in a small role. There are extras, but they aren't all that interesting, except for the hilarious song "Robinson Crusoe on Mars," sung by the actor who played Friday.

This movie was entertaining and interesting but not one of my favorite for this year. “Not too bad---good performance”. "I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.”

A fun and unique science fiction film. The special effects really are special in this; though some may think they are cheesy by today's standards, they and well crafted and different from other sci fi films of the time.
