Listened to one disc and a little more. Just could not get interested in the characters, set in modern times, or Silvia's tales of her self-centered youth. The previous stories set in the Civil War are much better.

Excellent book - J. Chiaverini again deftly weaves the past into the present. We are lead to understand the reasons behind a daughter's disapproval of her father's marriage and appreciate the wisdom of the new wife, who has learned all too well the consequences of unresolved family disagreements and her efforts to prevent another one from unfolding. Great life lessons.
