The Catholic EWTN channel foundress gives simple, spiritual advice that guarantees only the eternal presence of the Creator, and offers further comfort from that unchanging basis alone.
Mother Angelica is an old-school Catholic and many more of her kind are needed. There is much more than enough politicizing, psycho-analyzing and liberalizing going on in other quarters in the Church, including at some of the highest levels. Traditionalists like Mother Angelica also need to have a voice and a permanent place. Her advice might be discomfiting to some as she basically tells people to buckle down, keep praying no matter what, stop complaining and take positive action. She always includes herself as a target of her preaching, and understands that as a nun cloistered since her 20s, she does not suffer all the temptations that others do in "the real world." Nonetheless she is subject to sin, and practices the amelioration for it that she prescribes to others. Most importantly, she does the prescribing with a great deal of laugh-out-loud humor!
