GREAT 1939 b/w musical. Hadn't realized what a talented actor (and dancer) Mickey Rooney was. Good match with Judy Garland - no wonder they made several movies together. At the time of this movie, Mickey was 19, Judy just 17,

June Preisser was also excellent - quite the acrobatic dancer. She's
even shorter than Mickey and Judy (under 5').

Margaret Hamilton - ranked No. 4 in the American Film Institute's 2003 list of the 50 Best Movie Villains of All Time - was excellent in her small role wanting to put the kids in state schools.

Also fun to see an early Our Gang (Spanky, Alfalfa, Butch, and others) comedy as an extra...
