True confessions - I loved Anna Olson's t.v show. I would watch repeats of repeats of repeats. Her relaxed style and simple recipes make any dish seem achievable.
In this book, she gives a recipe but also adds three categories - taste - what to expect, technique - how best to manage a particular technique and tale - how this recipe came to be.
I loved the stories with each recipe.

I have tried several recipes from this cookbook with excellent results. From the perfect steak and frites to a show stopping chocolate mousse cake, this book offers a variety of wonderful recipes to suit every occasion. The taste, technique and tale for each recipe gives an interesting twist to each one. This is has become one of my go to cookbooks.
