Part cookbook, part memoir, part scrapbook, part philosophical dissertation, Eat Me is hard to categorize. Whatever it is, it's a highly entertaining look at the eccentric and irreverent Kenny Shopsin, the man behind the iconic Shopsin's restaurant in New York. Those who believe 'the customer is always right' might not appreciate Shopsin's often profane, but always enlightening musings on food, family, and life. Everyone else will make Kenny Shopsin their hero.

To truly appreciate this cookbook, you need to see the movie "I Like Killing Flies", a documentary about Kenny Shopsin and his restaurant. The text captures his ornery-ness and love for food, customers and family. The recipes? Well, I'm not sure I would make too many things from it, but his philosophy on cooking (deconstruct/reconstruct) is inspiring. And just reading the huge menu stresses you out a bit... what would you order and would you get kicked out of his restaurant if you did something wrong?!?!?
