Graphic novel that tells a story in the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series that is set prior to Guilty Pleasures. This is the story Anita is always referring to where:
(1) Dolph takes Anita along on an interview and she meets Jean-Claude for the first time;
(2) Anita gets branded with the cross on her arm;
(3) Anita gets her scars on her shoulder and arm from the vampire (Valentine?) gnawing on her; and
(4) Edward uses the flame thrower.... Quality literature it is not, but I'm not a fan of graphic novels. I appreciate that it fills a gap in Anita's story line...
This book is a good example of a failed cross-over from vampire novel to vampire comic book. Anita Blake, a legal vampire executioner, uses the dialogue of a 10-year-old. When the target market takes over the ability of a book to suspend disbelief, therein lies failure.
