"Fee-Fye-Foe-Fum!"..... If nothing else, 1956's Godzilla was actually worth watching just for the few good'n'hearty laughs that it produced throughout all of its destructive, city-wrecking action. (Watch video trailer)

What clearly added points to the overall entertainment value of this truly goofy, b-grade, Sci-Fi, monster movie was the total dead seriousness in which the Japanese had earnestly delivered Godzilla's wacky story.

What really killed me about the Godzilla monster was how hilariously slow and clumsy he was. Half the time he stomped and teetered and lumbered around as if he had had a few drinks (radioactive drinks, that is) too many.

To be completely honest here, Godzilla's special effects were surprisingly cheesy and disappointingly quite inferior (even for the 1950's).

All-in-all - Godzilla certainly could've been a whole lot better - But, then again, from a purely nostalgic point of view (and considering that it's only 80 minutes long), this here monster flick was well-worth sitting through just to see that this particular genre of film hasn't really changed a whole lot in sixty years.

A good film for the die hard godzilla fan and one recommended. This movie is ok but to be honest I would rather watchn the japanese version, but for hell's sake its up to you to decide
