A Coen brothers movie that launched Nicholas Cage into the limelight. My favourite part of the movie is when the main characters meet and court. If you have a quirky sense of humour, you will like this movie.

This film is my favourite from the Coen Brothers. It's absolutely fantastic. I love the light-heartedness and the tone and the writing and ... just everything. It's perfectly crafted, with every aspect of it just exactly how it should be. Nothing is out of place. You can watch it again and again. Nic Cage and Holly Hunter at their best. (Well, Holly Hunter is pretty much at her best in anything, including everything from erotic drama The Piano to animated family flick The Incredibles.) I would recommend it to everyone for multiple viewings.

Nicolas Cage, Holly Hunter and John Goodman star in Ethan and Joel Coen's acclaimed screwball love story filled with mad chases, unexpected plot twists and wild pyrotechnics. Vowing to go straight, a convenience store bandit (Cage) proposes marriage to the police department's photographer (Hunter). All is wedded bliss until they discover she's unable to get pregnant and are turned down by every adoption agency in town. It doesn't take long before they realize the only solution is to kidnap one of the town's celebrated quintuplets and hit the road!
