I only wish I had seen this movie sooner. I feel like this movie's message is more prevalent now than ever. As creator of the Truman Show states in the movie, "We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented, it's as simple as that." - what haunting words! I found myself asking, what is the difference between the 5,000 cameras watching Truman in a fictitious TV show and our news media today? Perception of reality is more than what is captured on camera and Truman proves that in this film.

An intriguingĀ concept of a child adopted by a cooperation and his entire life is filmed without him knowing for almost 30 years until Truman starts noticing the peculiar. A great film leading to an amazing finale.

Reminds me of my life. I talk out loud sometimes to myself and guess what its in the newspaper the next day. Satellites must be? listening in be careful its a strange world we live in.

I think this is most stupid movie I watched - even more stupid as Borat
I know, that it suppose to be satirical, but to be honest - is just only dumb
show that director maybe even got a interesting idea, but was so dumb and so vain that did n't even know what to show
so show only how stupid is american culture - that pop, base of american life
I know that not everything is so dumb and so empty, without taste and style - but one message is clear from that movie: yes - only here is possible to create something so stupid, so tasteful and so nonsense and some of the people will buy it and will try to find something deep
it should get negative stars
it is most distasteful movie even more then Disney's Aladdin and Jacob The Liar , from now it is #1
so for that reason is worth watch it - but please clean the mess after watching

Laura Linney's finest performance ever. This film is very engaging and in a sense disturbing. It makes you think about "simulation theory." Make no mistake, this film is one of the greatest masterpieces of all time. It doesn't get any better than this.

If you know someone who spends all their time on "Facebook," an "X-Box," or can't go a day without their phone gizmo -and this concerns you- then, most likely... YOU WILL LOVE THIS MOVIE. Question: Are you rooting for Truman to stay in his bubble, or escape?

Amazing, and brilliant. Wow. This movie is so original, the director was surely a genius. This is also my favorite Jim Carrey movie--his acting in this was fantastic. The ending and climax were breathtaking. Watch this and watch it now.

The sort of film you wish Jim Carrey would make more often instead of reverting to juvenile gross out humour. The Truman Show demonstrates that he can really be a good actor when he sets his mind to it. The story features him as the unwitting star of a reality show centered around him, and his gradual awakening to the artificial world he has been set in. Carrey's ideally cast as Truman, running the gauntlet of emotions as he comes to his realizations, and actually playing the character as a straight serious person works wonders. Ed Harris was a good choice for Christof, creator of the show, who's spent most of his adult life pulling strings and manipulating reality even on this small scale. Weir's film is a triumph as a character study, never gets old when you watch it, and serves as an eerie precursor to the blight that reality television became.

Truman: Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!
