When FBI agent Roy Clayton heads up the investigation into a dangerous international conspiracy, all clues seem to point back to former U.S. Special Operations officer, Samir Horn. A mysterious figure with a web of connections to terrorist organizations, Horn has a knack for emerging on the scene just as a major operation goes down. The inter-agency task force looking into the case meets with Carter, a veteran CIA contractor who seemingly has his own agenda and fellow FBI agent, Max Archer. The task force links Horn to a prison break in Yemen, a bombing in Nice and a raid in London, but a tangle of contradictory evidence emerges, forcing Clayton to question whether his quarry is a former military operative or something much more complicated.

Rated 8/10. This movie seemed like quite a realistic portrayl of what terrorism looks like. Good acting by all.

The best in its kind. Not just FBI and counter-terrorism, but also about morality, religion, humanity, and personal character. Wish there are more like this one.

Okay, I admit it, I watched this because of Guy Pearce and Archie Panjabi (I am not a fan of Don Cheadle since "House of Lies" which is one of the worst wastes of air time ever on television, other than his craigslist-worthy nude shot opening scene, haha). But his performance here was riveting and A-grade. Archie was not used to her normally stunning capacity, but was still great. And Guy was typically awesome. So, highly recommended, with an intriguing storyline. Possibly not all fiction?? You decide.

This is turned out to be a very good political\CIA\spy movie. Acting is excellent for all main characters. Worth the watch.

This was a very compelling tale about religion, politics, duty to one's country and how one man struggle to understand it all. Don Cheadle's role makes you think about how the spy networks really work and their various agendas.

Good movie, not quite what I expected.

A suprising story, in the vein of the cable show "Sleeper Cell" but with a bit more maturity and slightly less hysteria. You can see the two parallel plots - the conventional thinking, and the surprising reality. Don Cheadle plays his role very effectively, (an AMERICAN Muslim, BTW) with excellent support from Jeff Daniels and Guy Pearce. Great story, although the title doesn't quite fit, ironically or otherwise.

Good – Traitor (2008) 114 min. This is one of many movies about the war on terrorism. In this picture, we follow Samir (played by Don Cheadle), a Sudanese Muslim involved with jihad terrorists. What sets this picture from the rest is its maturity as well as how Samir explains to his comrades the true meaning of Quranic passages that have been mis-interpreted for their own means. The spy film moves along nicely with never a dull moment. Surprisingly, the story is from none other than Steve Martin, the comedian!?!
