This is my second attempt at this book. The first time I stopped not because I was bored or disinterested, but because I didn’t understand. I was simply too young. But now I can appreciate the characters and the plot. Agent Brad Raines is after the Bride Collector, a serial killer who chooses beautiful women to be the ‘Bride of God.’ In a series of twists and turns, Decker guides us into the minds of the mentally ill. Exploring some interesting individuals, the story kept my attention riveted from start to finish. This book isn’t for everybody. With grisly details and a direct look at mental illness, the story isn’t for the faint-of-heart. Add into that a look into Christianity and God, and I’m sure many people will scoff. But I believe this book is entertaining and I truly enjoyed it.
